The Liaison of the Civil Society Information Society Advisory Council would like to announce the results of the 2009 Steering Committee Election.
Those elected candidates to the Steering Committee are as follows, in alphabetical order:

The CSISAC Steering Committee will be composed by 8 members, selected either as individuals or as organizationsʼ representatives. Seven of them were elected through a voting process. These elected members will appoint 1 additional member, in order to ensure regional, gender, expertise balance in the Steering Committee.
Initially only six seats on the Steering Committee were going to be elected through a voting process. However, there were a tie for the six seat on the Steering Committee. This factor allowed CSISAC Liaison to proposed open up one more seat to be occupied by an additional candidate. The seven elected candidates with the majority of votes will appoint 1 additional member, in order to ensure regional, gender and expertise balance in the Steering Committee.
The seven elected candidates will begin their posts on the Steering Committee on October 9, 2009. The final composition of the Steering Committee will be done by November 30, 2009, and be announced by December 1.
There were 40 votes from a total of 92 electors. 43% percent of the voters list. The CSISAC election result is also available at http://registro.br/csisac/result/
The CSISAC Liaison is appreciative of all members who cast ballots, and candidates who we hope will continue to express interest as candidates in future elections and in CSISAC working groups.
The CSISAC Liaison would also like to thanks the NIC .BR for providing their voting system to carry out our first Steering Committee election.
