On June 8-9, 2009, OECD is organizing a conference on Sensor-Based Environments, Lisbon, Portugal. The objective of the event is to bring together policy makers, researchers, business and civil society to better understand how sensor-based and ubiquitous computing technologies can help address some of the most important global challenges (e.g. health and aging, transportation, environment, security and defense) and what policy makers can do to stimulate innovation in this area. This conference will follow up on previous OECD work on RFID.
